Fourth of July 2010

For a brief moment in time, there was a break in the sweltering heat we've had to endure, so on Saturday, July 3rd, Jayson, Myrna, and I packed a picnic and headed up to Oregon Ridge for the Symphony Orchestra's Star-Spangled Spectacular. Myrna danced up a storm and LOVED the huge playground they have on-site.

Myrna has never seen fireworks before...she's been too young to take in the noise in the past, and of course with the the longer days, it's usually far too late for her to stay up to see them. But, we thought since she's almost 3 years old, she might be able to handle it. And....she did pretty well! The noise definitely freaked her out, but she loved the colors. She hasn't stopped talking about the 'booms' ever since ;-)

On the actual 4th of July, we watched the City fireworks from the safety of the I-83 overpass (what we do every year), and since she was on 'ol pro, Myrna confidently handled the sights and the sounds :-)
